~ OUR FEELINGS ON THIS BLOG ~

We all thought that having a blog for a project is a 'new' and 'fresh' thing. Due to some problems that occurred, we did not really enjoy the joy and excitment that we had expected while doing this blog because of time constrain.
At first, we were very surprised that our class is the only class who don't know about the blog. Perhaps due to whatever reasons, we only realized it when the teacher-in-charge came to our class to inform us. We were all stunned when we found out about it. The teacher said that he would check it out for us and we thought that we would be followed up and thus, did nothing too. But later then we realized that we had to finish it before the end of this week. So we started creating our blog with only two days left......
We had actually done our blog on the day of the dateline but we were not aware that we had to send the URL to the teacher-in-charge until the following day.Realising it, we were really scared and confused about what to do. We really regret doing nothing when we were first informed of doing a blog. To amend our mistake, we tried our best to do what we can do on the blog and to make it as nice as possible.
We are very sorry for the late submission of the blog and hope that our efforts that we put in creating this blog can amend our mistakes. We had done our best in creating this blog and had really learnt our lesson. Though we might had been rushing our work, we have learnt something from making this blog and we still think that having a blog for projects is quite an interesting idea.

EFFECTS ON SMOKING...!!!

*WARNING
The following pictures may be disgusting, if you just had your meal, you are not advised to see the following pictures!!

TIPS FOR QUITTING...

* Quitting smoking can be a difficult but very rewarding decision for you and your friends or family. To help you begin living your life smoke-free, review the following tips for success.

* Think about your reasons for quitting. Write them down and carry them with you. You can read them every day or when the going gets tough.

* Choose a good time to quit and set a quit date. Stick with it. Sign a contract. Announce it to family and friends who support your decision.

* Have a plan before you quit. Exercise or take a walk instead. When you're bored, plan to call a friend, listen to music, go for a walk, and play with your pet, JUST GET BUSY! When you're upset, angry, or worried, call a friend, write it down, or talk to someone you trust.

* Think good thoughts. "I will do this." "I'm worth it." "I'm in control." "I'm proud of myself."

WHY QUIT SMOKING...???

1. Improve my personal appearance by eliminating such things as stained teeth and fingers, bad breath, coughing, and smoking odor on clothes. Prevent wrinkles and keep my skin nice. (Every puff on a cigarette puts 4,000 different chemicals into your body, but once you've stopped your skin should start to look brighter and younger than if you had continued to smoke. That’s because the levels of oxygen in your body will return to normal and your circulation will improve. You'll slow the formation of wrinkles around your mouth and eyes, and your eyes themselves will probably look brighter. The staining on your teeth and fingers will stop and your breath, hair, clothes and home will all smell better.)

2. Regain my sense of taste and smell, feel more energized and active, sleep better, and eliminate 'hairy tongue' and 'smokers cough' or wheezing.

3. Regain control of my behavior, gaining a sense of freedom, and owning myself again.

4. Reduce health risks, such as the risk of heart disease, cancer, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis. I do not want a heart attack or to have problems breathing.

5. Reduce risk to unborn children and provide a healthy environment for children and others living with me.

6. Save money.

7. Once you’ve had your last cigarette…
You’ll be amazed how quickly you see the difference:
-After 20 minutes, your blood pressure and pulse should return to normal. Circulation improves, especially to hands and feet.
-After 8 hours, blood oxygen levels increase to normal and your chances of having a heart attack start to fall.
-After 24 hours, carbon monoxide leaves the body. The lungs start to clear out mucus and debris.
-After 48 hours, your body is now nicotine-free. Your senses of taste and smell begin to improve.
-After 3 days, breathing is easier and your energy levels increase.
-2-12 weeks, circulation improves throughout the body. Walking and exercise get easier.
-3-9 months, breathing problems, coughing, shortness of breath and wheezing improve. Lung efficiency will have increased by 5-10%.
-After 5 years, risk of having a heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker.
-After 10 years, risk of lung cancer falls to around half that of a smoker. Risk of a heart attack falls to about the same as someone who has never smoked.
-Increase productivity by regaining the time I now spend maintaining my smoking habit.
-Avoid possible injury or upset to others by such things as smoking in restaurants or dropping ashes on them.

A friend who smokes heavily helped us!!

One of our main factors on our Learning Issues column was “why quit smoking?”. At first, this question was a complete stranger to us until we came across a friend who was smoking heavily had broken up with his loved one, because of his smoking habits. His girlfriend of 2 years had gotten frustrated with him smoking the whole day and worst of all, his girlfriend was a doctor. This immediately attracted our attention and thus, we decided to find out more about this topic. From books and that friend we found out that quitting smoking improves our looks and helps us save money. It also help reduce health risks. These were the few points that we stated in our FILA chart. That’s all for now, and remember, DON'T SMOKE!!
